Mark Poleski’s wood sculpture and chainsaw carving is truly unique in the way each piece conveys his or her personality. He takes great pride in his work and the attention to detail, scale, anatomy and expression. The sculptures typically range from 2 feet to 7 feet and are made out of a variety of wood, including poplar, cedar, oak, walnut, ash and pine. Carved with chainsaws and grinders then refined by hand, the sculptures are finished using various tools and techniques, including pyrography, paint, stain and spar urethane. They can be placed indoors or outdoors.
Most of Mark’s work are custom commissions that are either based on a previous type of sculpture or are new ideas requested by the client. But, he also tries to keep a limited gallery of ready-made work available for purchase that typically includes brown bears, black bears, owls, pine trees, and pumpkins.
For custom work, Mark sketches his design based on your description or photographs of the subject. Once you approve the design, Mark will carve the sculpture, and we will email you photos of the finished piece. Mark can carve on-site sculptures using existing tree stumps or logs that you provide.
We can deliver your sculpture (for a delivery fee) and place it in its final location. If the installation requires an out-of-the-ordinary effort, we would charge an additional fee.
Smaller chainsaw carving orders are ready to ship in approximately 4 weeks. Larger pieces can take up to 12 weeks or longer for specialty projects.
