Happy New Year! 2019 was a year of change and growth for us both. Mark's work branched out into home decor with a set of beautiful side tables (spurred by my relentless request for him to carve me a bedside table--which I love, but yes, it's available for sale ;). And now he added these gorgeous, charming, and personalized hearts carved for an engagement and wedding. We just said goodbye to this adorable pair of owls as their new owner picked them up for his wedding where they'll be a centerpiece display. We loved them so much that Mark carved a second pair which will be finished in the next week.

The Wedding Gift

This spring Mark carved a pair of very unique sculptures for Jason, the owner of Big Secret, a laser etching and cutting business in Richmond, as a surprise wedding present for his new bride. One sculpture has a bear body and a bird head; the other has a bird body and a bear head. The sculptures represent the couples love of bears (the bride's ring has a custom bear design), and the bride's name is Bird.
